What Teachers Really
Want to Tell Parents
By Ron Clark
Teaching is the noblest profession.-
this implies that a teacher portrays different roles like a model, facilitator,
actor, manager, mother, sister, and many more. Sealed with this statement are
different kinds of hardships encountered by a teacher every day especially in
dealing with the students’ behaviors and attitudes and also with the parents.
As a
teacher, you should establish a great relationship between you and the parents
and with the community because they are the one who will serve as your partners
in the teaching and learning process. Especially for parents because they are
the ones who will serve as the second teacher of a child when they are at home.
They are the ones who have the responsibility of guiding the extent of
education of their child through assignments and others. The relationship
between teacher and parent should not be broke for the children may be
affected.
What
the teacher really want to tell parents is for them to help them and cooperate
well and not to be against their system because for the first place, they are
the ones who enters their child in the school meaning they are putting their
trust in the school and to its faculty the education that they want for their
children.
Teacher
and parent should have a good team work for the children to become more active in
the school and be more disciplined. When there’s a problem in the school, as a
parent you should try to analyze first the situation before complaining and
defending your child. You as a parent know your child. You know his/her
behavior that’s why a parent should be patient. When it comes in giving grades
don’t demand if your child got a low grades because they deserved it. You
should be thankful for because the teacher is honest and provides room for your
child’s improvement rather than those children who got a high grades but then
learned nothing at all.
A good
relationship between the teacher and parent is necessary for a well and
balanced education for your child and also for the teacher to be more
encouraged to do more in her career and for the children as well.
